IT’S SNOW TIME!
The ski season is underway, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is one of the only Ski Resorts in the region that has enough snow to open. With December being the most productive month for snowfall for the last two seasons, the skiing this winter will be some of the best. Many of you avid skiers are not familiar with Grand Targhee Resort, a short drive east of Driggs, Idaho. This ski resort has the advantage of being on the west side of the Grand Tetons where the powder piles up. Targhee caters to all levels of skiers with plenty of beginner trails for the whole family.
The great news is that JHMR and Grand Targhee Resort are both just an hour drive from Alpine Airpark, making the winter just as much fun and adventure driven as the summer. Closer to your hangar, the Alpine Cross Country Ski trails open up once there is enough snow pack surrounding the Airpark. With ski-in-ski-out access, the residents of 46U are usually the first to be out enjoying the trails.
For those wanting more “off-road” adventure, snow shoeing is so much fun and definitely a work out. Many locals are doing just that enjoying a sunny family trek out into the woods to harvest their holiday Christmas trees.
If you are planning a winter getaway to Jackson make sure you include a trip to check out the Airpark. We will surely have a white Christmas with that pure white powdery snow that makes Christmas at 46U so memorable.
