Fire Warriors at 46U

This summer has been a tough-one for our surrounding Fire Fighters. Alpine Airpark has been the base for several fire-fighting operations and thanks to Scot & Andrea Cook owners of the brand-new Alpine Airpark FBO, the firefighters have had a place to cool off and sleep at nights. Due to the westerly winds, our normally beautiful blue skies have brought in the smoke from California, Oregon and Idaho. Bring on the rain!

A big project at Alpine Airpark gets underway this week. Today contractors arrive in mass to begin the widening of our runway from 50 feet to 70 feet, resealing and then repainting. The runway will be closed from the 13th to the 21st of September and when complete, 46U will have brand new blacktop, bright new paint, and best of all, from a safety standpoint, a 70ft wide runway.

The summer days are almost over but autumn will continue to bring us cool nights and warm days. Already the autumn colors are showing up on the surrounding mountains. For many including me, September is a favorite month to be here. If you are considering a flight to check out the Airpark, come after September 22nd and land on our brand new runway!

We have several properties sold or under contract this summer and excited new residents ready to move in and begin a new chapter of their lives. It is called “living the dream.”

Featured Properties

Our featured properties this month include a Log home whose price has been reduced due to a motivated Seller to $1,300,000. On the “beach front,” this classic log home with custom spotted pine banisters and design features, has five bedrooms and a huge living room with wood fireplace and kitchen area for family fun. The property has room to build your custom hangar if you require a larger one, otherwise taxi into the 45×40 ft hangar and call it good. Click here for details.

Our second home is a new listing – owner loves it here @46U so much they brought a bigger place to fit all the grandkids, So this great hangar with attached two bedroom apartment is available for sale and move-in ready. What pilots love is the huge glass window looking into the hangar and the aircraft on full view! The second floor is a spacious master suite with huge covered deck overlooking Ferry Peak and the surrounding mountains. For more details click here.
